  1. Change wording on Rules

Ok, So I am going to go PvM at Revenants. I understand the risks for being attacked and dying and I am perfectly ok with that. But, when a rule states this... " We define ragging as repeated or consistent harassment towards another player in a PvP environment. This might mean using overhead protection prayers and barraging/ranging their opponent repeatedly just to stop them from PKing. " Ok, Let's analyze this since the mod I talked to @I SoloSeems to be a fucking idiot and doesn't understand the meaning of PvP environment. PvP environment in any place a player can attack another player. SO, Revs would be a PvP environment if I am not mistaken. In the rules it does not state " these rules apply to edge only" https://gyazo.com/f98e5fb5e68d341173449d892b3b07b0 I was attacked as I teleported to the ::revs spot about 5 times in a row by the same exact player using Overheads, Farcasting and using Range. "This might mean using overhead protection prayers and barraging/ ranging their opponent repeatedly" ... Strange how all of those things happened. So change wording on the Official Rules Page please thank you, to avoid confusion.
  2. Official Server Rules The Dawntained rules are a set of general guidelines for everyone to follow. Punishments will fit the crime, in most cases you will be asked to appeal your actions before returning to the community. You will be removed if you are causing a negative impact regardless. Staff decisions are always final. For anything else that isn't noted on this list, that doesn't mean that it is allowed. Anything that a staff member considers worthy of a punishment will result in the punishment being decided by said staff member. If you see a player that is breaking a rule, please report them here: Submit a report Last Updated: 4th April 2019 We do not tolerate, nor do we condone advertisements of any kind on our server (or if you're advertising us on another server). If you plan to promote us, do so in a non-malicious manner. YouTube advertisements, social media advertisements, anything that doesn't directly take people from one server to another. It should be common sense not to advertise another server on here and as such you will be permanently removed from the community if you decide to do so. Punishment: Permanent ban, non appeal-able. Banter in small doses is fine. We understand that in the heat of the moment a lot of people can retaliate back. But when it starts to offend and continue on and on that's when it becomes harassment. You will be warned, however if it is an ongoing issue, you will be removed from our community. Any insults in the form of racism will have an instant mute of 6-8 hours. Next time you get muted, the time will double. Every threat about ddosing or doxing a person will result in a permanent mute. Any mention of DDoSsing against another player is considered harassment. For example, if player A said in yell "Player B just ddossed me for max", that would be a warning for harassment. To see new changes to how we handle DDoS allegations, please read this thread: http://dawntained.com/forums/topic/616-a-word-about-ddosing Punishment: 1st time - Warning, 2nd time - Temporary mute, 3rd time - Double of the last mute. Note: if you have too many mutes on your account, staff can decide to mute you permanently. Yell We have decided that there will now be a ZERO tolerance rule on flaming/spamming over yell. If users do not stop when warned they will receive an instant yell mute - please also yell communication is in English, as most of our community and Staff Team speak English. Yell mutes span from 3 hours, and each time a player receives one, the time will double. Please remember that yell is intended to be used for buying/selling items and helping other players, not arguing with other clan members. Luring is allowed, as it comes down to a players own common sense in such a situation. However you are not allowed to do it over the official Dawntained CC or Yell. Any other types of scams are not allowed. This includes gaining wealth through dishonest and fraudulent methods. Players that get scammed via 'trust trading' items or trading items expecting to get something in return is something that we do not punish, since it is down to common sense. A player found to be scamming with a Dice bag either through Flower Poker or Dice games will have their dice removed from them on their first offence, then receive a permanent ban after their first warning. Punishment: Warning / Dice removal for gamblers 1st time, 2nd time permanent ban. Multi-voting The act of using a VPN or similar to continuously claim vote tickets via voting is against the rules, as it not only puts players at a disadvantage, but voting toplist sites do not allow it. Players WILL have action taken against them if they have been found to be multi-voting. Punishment: 1st time - warning, 2nd time - removal of wealth/ban depending on severity. We stride to be the most clean, bug free server out there, however we are not perfect and pesky bugs tend to pop up here and there. Please report any bugs or exploits you may find. We certainly try to compensate people for their devotion in doing so. That being said, we ask that you do not exploit them as it may cause damage to the server's economy, game play, and overall experience. Doing so will result in harsh punishments. Punishment: Depending on the severity of the abuse, each player will be dealt with differently. It is the decision of a member of staff to determine the outcome for a suitable punishment. Here at Dawntained, we only have a few guidelines to follow when you are engaging in PvP combat. NO RAGGING. What is ragging? We define ragging as repeated or consistent harassment towards another player in a PvP environment. This might mean using overhead protection prayers and barraging/ranging their opponent repeatedly just to stop them from PKing. This also means no constant safe to 99's as you attempt to rush someone, or fight someone (unless you both are) - you have to give the player the chance to "kill you" as well does not mean unload your specs and safe to full every hit they get on you, also a form of ragging. With regards to rushing, there's a fine line between rushing and harassment (ragging). Banter before and after the fight is fine, but if someone's getting too annoyed/offended then it needs to stop. Please note that staff decisions are final, and staff will say whether the situation is classed as ragging or not. Every situation is different and will be treated very seriously by staff. For risk fights we ask that you show each other inventories before hand and each player have a clear indication as to what they are risking, and what the other player is risking as well. Communication is key. If players decide to just fight and assume they're getting the items they think they are, there's not much we can do to either get your items back, or get you the items you thought you were getting. If you attempt to alter your inventory or change the risk mid fight/ right before the fight starts, we will consider that scamming and you will be punished accordingly. Make sure that you both check your risks with ::risk before fighting. As for the clans who pk @::revs bolt ragging under any circumstance is not allowed you are to bring a mage switch and tbs do not count as a mage switch unless you are doing a fall in. If you try to manipulate these rules you will be punished and every decision is final. - Ragging is not allowed. This includes far-casting and using protecting prayers. (Not allowing an opponent to get an actual chance to kill you is unfair). As well as not allowing someone to enter the wilderness and harassing them this way, There is to be no bolt venging at revs (using rag range with a crossbow / vengeance). -Rushing with overheads prayers. Rushing has been a major thing recently with players constantly doing it as well as reporting it. We understand that the wilderness is there and players can risk what they wish however if you rush someone with overhead protection it's a major unfair advantage for the opponent to even have a chance to kill you, therefore it is not allowed. - spec running is not allowed You can rush normally with smite etc, just not protection prayers. spec running is not allowed anywhere. Teleporting after using a special attack is allowed in Edgeville wild, pvp and Anywhere else in the Wilderness, since there's a 5 second timer after using special attack, but if the player is continuesly spec tabbing multiple people or multiple times he or she will be punished. Punishment: Wilderness ban, the length is dependant on the severity of the situation. Please try to treat staff with the respect that they deserve. They donate their precious time into making sure that you guys have the most enjoyable experience possible. That being said, please listen to what they have to say. If they tell you to do something, do it. If they tell you not to do something, don't do it. Staff are hand picked by those of us who hold the highest positions on the server. They are a reflection of our judgement. If for whatever reason you are dissatisfied with a certain member of a staff, please post in the "Staff feedback" section. Everyone gets a say, we value your opinion. On a further note, as mentioned numerous times on this thread, staff decisions are final. This means that any of these rules may be subject to slight changes depending on the situation. IMPERSONATION Staff impersonation, or impersonating anyone on the server for that matter, is strictly forbidden. Any accounts associated with your IP (or hardware IDs) will be punished. You will most likely be warned at first, however any impersonations after that will be dealt with accordingly. Punishment: This will depend on the situation, and each situation will be dealt with in a manner deemed appropriate by a member of staff. REAL-WORLD TRADING We take real-world trading very seriously. What is real-world trading? - We define this term as the action of selling Dawntained wealth or accounts for real life currencies, or for wealth on another game. For example, Old School RuneScape. It is strictly forbidden, and any accounts that we find that have taken part in such activities will be Permanently banned. The reason why we take this so seriously is that if players sell blood money for osgp, for example, Dawntained misses out on donations that are vital to keep the game running. It costs several thousands of dollars each month to run Dawntained, taking into account advertisements, hosting costs etc. If you want to swap Oldschool gold for blood money, then you can do so by doing the command ::osrs in-game. By donating using OSGP, it allows us to sell that gold and invest that money back into server costs. Please note that we have lots of undercover sources, and it's actually surprisingly easy to catch players that partake in RWT activities. You are not to donate to another persons account and expect anything in return either, This can be classified as rwt as well and this also prevents you from possibly being scammed. Punishment: Permanent ban. MACROING Macroing (botting) is strictly against our rules. If a player is found to be using a bot or macroing software to cheat at Dawntained then they could face being permanently banned. Staff will decide on the consequences for the player depending on the severity of the situation. Punishment: Permanent ban / Account wipe / Jail depending on severity Under no circumstances is hacking of any kind tolerated. This includes but is not limited to trying to guess someone's password, tricking people into giving you sensitive information, or even the use of third party software to modify the client. We have an automatic system in place which will ban a user if they are deemed to be attempting to hack accounts. Punishment: You will be permanently banned from both the server and forums with no chance of appeal if you are caught doing any of this. Boosting for Blood money is not allowed. This includes making an alt to kill for Blood money, and anything else that can be considered boosting. If a player gets killed by another player/clan numerous times in a normal PKing environment, that is allowed. More recently it has come to our attention that players have been farming kills during world events that have bonus emblem drops for certain builds. If a player is caught boosting in this way they will be punished accordingly. Punishment: This depends on the severity of the situation, but will most likely be in this order: 1st time - Warning, 2nd time - Temporary ban, 3rd time - Permanent ban We have a strict set of rules for alts here on Dawntained. We understand that some people like to make different accounts to experience the game in different ways and that is totally fine. But using alts to gain an unfair advantage is strictly prohibited. As such we have made it a rule that you are not allowed to have more than one account on the same clan, or in the Wilderness at the same time. You're allowed to have two separate alts on two separate clans, but they can't be interacting in anyway (see boosting). If there is a conflict between the two clans that you have alts in, then you must leave one of them. You cannot transfer wealth to an alt to avoid the stake limits, anyone found to be doing so will be punished. Punishment: This depends on the severity of the situation, but will most likely be in this order: 1st time - Warning, 2nd time - Temporary ban, 3rd time - Permanent ban If you are banned, it's for a reason. Please respect the decision. As mentioned before, a temporary ban will have to be appealed against before a player is considered to be unbanned. Punishment: In the unlikely situation that someone does manage to evade a ban, this will result in the player's accounts being DELETED. ACCOUNT OFFERS You cannot buy another player's account offer. It leads to scams and chargebacks.
